Style Trends in 2020

When it comes to designing the perfect home, everyone knows that furniture can make or break a space.  Choosing the right pieces will elevate your home aesthetic.   I am a local Las Vegas Realtor specializing in staging your home to sell at the maximum price.  These tips will help you to either style your new home or update your current one.  What will be popular in interior design style and furnishings in 2020?

1 – Oxidized Oak

The blackend version of true white oak feels grounded and comfortable.

2 – Luxe Headboards

Upholstered headboards give a touch of sophistication and a sanctuary effect.

3 – Bold

Everything is swinging from crisp white to Scandinavian vivid, high contrast patterns in walls and furnishings.

4 – Multifunctional  Furniture

Simplifying your home has become popular with pieces that can multitask.

5 – Handcrafted Authenticity

A return to decorative art pieces and antiques.  This is especially exciting to me because I love antiques so much.  This photo is of my formal living room; notice the antique bar cabinet.

6 – Blush Tones

Blush is the new neutral.  It pairs well with greys and naturals for a calming effect.

7 – Cozy Beds

Beds are going to be more cozy and sumptuous with lots of fabrics and upholstery.

8 – Geometric Patterns

We’re moving away from tribal repeats and into more loose, over scaled asymmetrical shapes.

9 – Natural Materials

Natural stone with visual texture will continue into 2020 with quartzite, marble and terrazzo.

10 – Curvy Design

Embrace the curvy design aesthetic with 1970’s inspired rounded furniture.  Rounded chairs are the perfect way to bring chic into your home.

11 – Details

Small details in upholstery have a big impact on design.  Seams, piping, contrast stitching, flanged seams give a perceived expensive look

12 – Metal

Metal is being used in interesting ways and will be more popular than ever.  Out with the rose gold though and into gold, brass or blackened metals.

13 – Art Deco

The art deco influence (think 1920’s) will be more prominent in the coming year.  Pink is staying very strong.
